Gary Topp - Chief Executive
After university, and managing a record store in the centre of London, Gary ran his own café and gallery business in Dorset. He then worked for three local authorities (Poole, Cleveland and Hartlepool) progressing from curatorial work and gallery management to become head of a large regeneration based arts and museums service in Hartlepool. He then moved to Head of Regional Development at Yorkshire Arts.
Throughout his career Gary has argued, written and put into practice the enormous contribution that culture makes across a wide range of social and economic agendas. He also rides a mountain bike as often as possible. In September 2002, Gary became the first Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Cultural Consortium, now known as Yorkshire Culture.
