Role:
Having just completed a programme of work around the Indian International Festival Awards Weekend with its superb IIFA Fringe Festival, Elaine is now currently working on the Northern Way Public Art Investment Programme, The Tour of Britain Cycle Race Yorkshire Stage 4, the North Yorkshire Outdoor Adventure Development Programme as well as a host of other projects.
In addition Elaine has been awarded a scholarship to study for an MA in Cultural Leadership at City University, London. This is a pilot programme for women in senior positions within the cultural sector.
Background:
After graduation from Cambridge University, Elaine worked in Japan, at Tokai University then as an Account Executive within the Pension Fund Management Division of Mitsubishi Trust Bank in Tokyo where she handled major foreign corporate investment accounts. Returning to the North of England, Elaine then took up senior roles within the Leisure and Tourism industry, including five years as Head of Operations Administration at Shearings Holidays, before joining Yorkshire Culture in 2004.
Interests:
Elaine currently swims most mornings and spends the weekends either walking in the Yorkshire countryside or checking out the latest tourist attractions….that is in between the children’s swimming lessons, football practice and “fun club”.
