
Colin B. Jeynes
Colin Jeynes retired from the post of Chief Executive of Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council in 1993, after serving 38 years in local government, with 20 years as a Chief Officer.
He then joined with 3 other former local authority Chief Executives to set up the overseas consultancy arm of SOLACE (the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives) Solace International. Subsequently the company became Solace Enterprise to deliver a full range of consultancy products in the UK as well. Colin Jeynes was the company’s Finance Director until his retirement in 2002.
Since then he has been Chair of Doncaster’s Economic Partnership and then of its Strategic Partnership until the end of 2006. He is a member of the Doncaster Cultural Partnership.
Colin Jeynes has been associated with the Doncaster Dome since its construction in the 1980’s and is Chair of the Doncaster Dome Leisure Trust (a registered charity). He is also an Honorary Life Member of the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry. A keen European, Colin is a member of the Executive Committee of the Local Government Group for Europe.
Colin is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy, holder of the Diploma in Municipal Administration and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
